Domaine De Villaine

Bouzeron

The Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron, the first village on the Côte Chalonnaise south of Beaune, located between the villages of Santenay, Rully and Mercurey. The vines are cultivated exclusively on hillsides, between 270 and 350 meters above sea level. The lean soils with a high limestone content on these hillsides ensure good control of yields.

The Domaine seeks to vinify healthy and highly mature grapes. To achieve this, the obvious choice since 1986 of organic farming methods, which will be certified in 1997. Pesticides and herbicides are excluded in order to respect the natural balance.

This also involves the selection and planting of the vine plants, severe pruning and disbudding and, if necessary, thinning of the grapes.
