Domaine Michelot

Meursault

The estate has been owned by the Michelot family for 6 generations. It has grown over the years, took off in the 1960s with the strong personality of Bernard Michelot and now covers 19 hectares including several 1er crus.

Limitations of phytosanitary treatments and preference for a reasoned culture with many ploughings. The harvest is manual and the sorting is done in the vineyard. The wines are aged for 10 to 12 months in barrels, and after racking, they are blended for 5 to 6 months in vats in order to obtain good homogeneity in each cuvée. A fining can be done depending on the year, and a light filtration before bottling. The total aging period is therefore 16 to 18 months.
