The family settled in Vosne-Romanée in 1930 and the estate is currently run by the third generation, Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée who share the same passion for vines and wine. Jeanne Gibourg married André Mugneret in 1928 and together created the Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg in 1933. They will produce Bourgogne Rouge, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Echezeaux Grand Cru.
Their only son, Georges Mugneret (1929-1988), an ophthalmologist in Dijon, very quickly decided to continue the work of his parents, alongside his medical activities. He enlarged the family estate through successive purchases of plots: Clos Vougeot, Ruchottes-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Les Vignes Rondes” and Chambolle-Musigny. He thus created the Domaine Georges Mugneret.
In 2009, Domaines Mugneret-Gibourg and Georges Mugneret merged to create Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg. The same year, Jacqueline retired and today the estate is run by the two sisters, Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée.
