Domaine Rostaing
Ampuis
For the Rostaing, it all started in 1971, when René decided to take over the management of several family wineries, namely that of his father-in-law, Mr. Albert Dervieux-Thaize, and that of his uncle, Mr. Marius Gentaz. Today, the estate covers 7 hectares in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, and one hectare in the Condrieu appellation.
Syrah and Viognier are limited to yields of 35 hectoliters per hectare, native yeasts for fermentation, and whole harvest. The macerations are carried out in tanks with automatic punching down, for a long time in order to extract all the aromatic potential. The aging is carried out in Burgundy barrels of 228 liters and in demi-muids of 600 liters, with a limited contribution of new wood, in order to limit the denaturation of the expression of the terroir. A signature that Pierre has maintained since 2015.
