Domaine Trapet is a family estate created in 1870 by Louis Trapet, the great-great-grandfather of Jean-Louis Trapet. The real notoriety of the estate began in 1919 when Pierre-Arthur Trapet bought the first parcel of Grand Cru : Chambertin. This reference in Burgundy has been managed since 1995 by Jean-Louis Trapet. Jean-Louis Trapet is a master of the Côte de Nuits. He also owns 2 hectares of vines in Alsace through his wife Andrée, heiress of a domaine in Riquewihr. Both are different therefore the same passion.
Domaine Trapet has 15 hectares of vines, including 13.5 in pinot noir and 1.5 in chardonnay. It covers great appellations such as the Grands Crus Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Gevrey Chambertin. Thanks to his attentive temperament and his biodynamic cultivation of vines, Jean-Louis has succeeded in positioning the family estate very high.
For the Trapets, wine is indeed a family affair. Thus, if, due to a succession, the winemaker recently lost part of his vines to the benefit of his Rossignol cousins, he still has an exceptional heritage. This heritage thus includes three Grands Crus and two Premiers Crus.
