Emidio Pepe founded his winery in 1964, after working alongside his father and grandfather who, already in 1889, were producing wine at Casa Pepe. Before anyone else, he firmly believed in the great ageing potential of Trebbiano and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and he dedicated all his energy to these two native grape varieties, proving their incredible potential and showing it to the whole world.

A tireless worker, he continues today to personally take care of all his vineyards, from pruning to harvesting. He carefully observes the signals that nature gives him and, with the particular sensitivity developed over fifty years of grape harvests, he interprets them and accompanies his vines and grapes until their vinification without ever intervening.

A careful guardian of his land, he has protected his soils and his wines from chemicals and has based all his empirical work on respect for traditions and on the authentic and sincere expression of his wines.
