Roc d'Anglade
Langlade
Roc d'Anglade bears witness to a rich wine-growing past. Writings dating from 936 attest to the presence of vines in Langlade, a small town located in the Gard. In the 18th century, after having Langlade wine served at court, Louis XIV attributed the royal coat of arms to the village, which can be found on the label of the bottles today. While the village of Langlade was booming in 1870 thanks to the reputation of its wines, the phylloxera crisis destroyed this development. The population then fell by half. It was only from 1886 that little by little, viticulture reappeared with wines that immediately stood out.
It was in 1999 that the Roc d'Anglade estate was created. Under the impetus of the brilliant and passionate winegrower Rémy, Roc d'Anglade has become one of the greatest wines of Languedoc. Spread over a 7.5 hectare vineyard, the Roc d'Anglade estate benefits from an exceptional limestone terroir of Langlade.
Rémy has imprinted a unique and recognizable style on its wines. Produced under the IGP Pays du Gard appellation, the wines of the Roc d'Anglade estate reflect the philosophy of Rémy Pédreno, allowing the terroir to express itself through fine and elegant wines.
